DECOMMISSIONING

Petrotek are able to carry out decommissioning survey work for your verification and engineering department.

Decommissioning

The oil and gas industry is now reaching a point where some installations and plant are now coming to the end of their lifespan. From the point where the installation and plant have been declared as no longer in production there is a timeline to fully decommission the installation.

During this time, the verification authorities along with the HSE may deem that the installation still has to be maintained in such a condition until full decommissioning work is started. Using video and still images, essential system such as access and egress from the installation can be monitored and maintained. Using drones we are able to offer a cost effective solution.

Benefits

Reduce safety risk

Using UAVs avoids putting personnel into potentially hazardous or unknown areas. The imagery obtained can help you plan your next maintenance strategy or in the case of asset damage, from a safe location to start your installation recovery.

High quality intelligence

The data acquired from the UAV inspections can be utilised to form a historical log / inspection evidence. This data can be replicated on future inspections and comparisons made to monitor any degradation in structural integrity. The data can be used to demonstrate to the relevant agencies that structural integrity is being maintained through your planned decommissioning process. Exceptional Image and video quality enable superb interpretation of the data.

Rapid response

Petrotek are able to offer rapid response to any incident. Rapid mobilisation subject to visa requirements. Enabling you to assess any situation before personnel attend the installation after any incident.

The Petrotek process

Petrotek’s specialist team has over 20 years offshore experience having worked first hand on vessels all over the world.

We can produce detailed structural reports, recommendations and visual data for one-off, repeat or emergency projects.

We can work alongside your existing inspection team during planned maintenance schedules or more regular to monitor deterioration.  Petrotek Inspections will provide data on the condition of the structural areas for concern, undertaken by skilled offshore and CAA qualified engineers.

We can assemble and mobilise to site rapidly where required or plan meticulous scheduled inspections on a regular basis. Our inspection process typically takes 2 days and will provide several hours of detailed visual 4k high definition video data, thermal imaging data and high resolution stills along with reports and recommendations where required.
